Location: Chicago | I finally finished my winter project, a first for me at power-carving and airbrushing. It's made out of pine, has glass eyes & homemade teeth. I had bought the wrong paint for the airbrush, it was metallic house paint. Still have to find the right paint for doing fish. I have a few smears & blemishes but still pleased in the way it turned out. It has a marine varnish for top coat. In a few months, I'll start a new one making a Minnesota fish.

| That muskie looks amazing. I honestly can't believe what a nice job you did with that. If you were planning on selling it/them you could name your price IMO. I think $500 would be a fair starting bid. ![](https://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/images/emoticons/wink.gif) |

Location: Chicago | Thanks guys for the kind words. I want make one more to see if it was beginners luck. Your right I have alot of hours into it, it took me about 4 hrs just to draw it up. Hopefully on the next I can cut the time in half by learning from the mistakes I made on this one. Bondo fixed alot of the errors. It's been a great way to pass the time while waiting for the weather to warm up. |

Location: Chicago | Thanks again guys. The muskie weighs 11 lbs.on the berkley digital scale, here's a couple top view pics. The lumber I used was 2"x12". Everything is one piece except for the bottom 4 fins. I went to the lumber yard yesterday and found a great piece of pine for the next project, will start drawing it up this weekend.

There would certainly be a market out there but ever considered carving just a head section? I think there would be a market using the head sections as presentation trophies, hell I'd have one for my pike anglers group (have to be pike color though).

Location: Chicago | I has some time this weekend to draw it up. I wanted to do something a little different with this one, tail down with a closed mouth. This one tapes out at 67". I'm going to paint it into a Minnesota heavy weight. I had to glue an extra piece of wood at the bottom to get the shape for this one. I'll probably be working on it off and on for the next 2 months.

| This is a rare piece of musky art work. I’d bet there are not any other examples of a carved wooden musky of this size and detail. The paint ‘mistake’ is what makes this one special. I think it looks better than most replicas (from an art perspective). I’ve carved many 2D muskies and I am sure that a ton of time and effort went into this one. You should not sell it since it is your first one. However, if you were to sell it… $3000 - $5000 is a reasonable price range. |

Personally; I would love to have one of those for the house. What a great alternative to a graphite replica...

| 58"??? I could believe 52, but there is no way that thing is 58. And don't get me started on not releasing it.
Seriously though, EXCELLENT work. A truly impressive piece of art. |
