| Just got a new scanner, and this maybe in archives, but how do you send or post pictures to Muskie First? Could use all the help, me and new gadgets take awhile to get use to each other. Thanks, Al[:0] | |

| Scan in the photo to a file or a floppy disc. Make sure the file size is under 250000kb, by compressing the photo. The scanner software should allow you to select the quality of the picture. Internet photos do not need to be super crisp, as most monitors are not good enough to show the detail well enough any way. Select the setting and check it for file size. If the file is too big, the server will not accept the picture.
Open a Thread or Post window, click on 'attach file', and open the file where the pic is stored from there. Highlight the pic, then hit the load key. The server will take you back to the post/thread page with the file listed as attached. Type in the text, and hit submit! | |

| Keep the file size under 50k if possible, use .jpg compression file format. Learn to resize, crop, sharpen, and change the resolution of images using your image editing program of choice. Your image should be scanned at, or converted to, 72 dpi resolution, as this is the resolution of most monitors. Using a higher resolution will only make the image appear larger, it will not enhance quality.
Keep the filename short but unique. Some thing like zachb001.jpg, zachb002.jpg etc without any goofy characters like ~ & *. If you pick a filename such as fish.jpg, or fish1.jpg, you will run the risk of overwriting someone's file, and eventually having your's overwritten.
We (Jason and I) are also working on a photography section for the site which will allow you to do some cropping and editing right on the screen, and add metadata to your image to make it keyword searchable. It's pretty cool.
