wow...that's an amazing announcement.

i'm particularly glad to see that Paul Hartman will continue to be involved, and most especially pleased to see that there will be ongoing support for his efforts to help raise muskies in the stocking ponds!

this should go a long way to help get more boats in each event and end the risk of more than one event on the same weekends.

great, great news.

OK, I'll try again. So the MAC will be in charge of the co-occuring events?

the press release makes it sound like the published MAC schedule will stay the same (Minocqua June 6-7, Leech Aug 22-23, Holcombe Sep 6-7, Vermilion Sep 19-20), and the Metro event will still be on June 13.

it says they'll run "as many as 2 additional events" as the "Hartman Series".
my guess is that they'll move them to different dates so that they don't conflict with other MAC events.

maybe on Mille Lacs and Cass on different dates than currently scheduled?
and no tourney on Vermilion at all during July?
if so, that would be very cool indeed.

Mr. Winther has it right. There are some logistics to work out to increase field sizes and look at date/venue possible changes for the MAC Hartman Series events in the very near future.

Very Cool! Sounds like a win/win situation for both the MAC and the MMTT.

WoW,
Quite the turn of events.

I'm also pleased that Paul is still going to be involved to some extent... Good for you Mr. Hartman.

I had planed on fishing a couple of the MMTT events and was wondering how it was going to work out.... Funny how the Lord works sometimes.... This IS a good deal, all around.

So with the merger are the entry fees going to be $750 or $500 on the merger waters?

MAC Circuit events, $750. MAC Hartman Series events, $500. Open the MAC Hartman to larger fields.

If only this announcement was made a few weeks back it would have saved me 5 to 7 pages of reading about what was going to happen to the MMTT with MAC in town that weekend. I guess maybe this is a lesson to people to just let the facts unfold before jumping the gun. Sounds like a win win for both events and the Minnesota musky program. Glad to see a great resolution to this chapter of the MAC saga.

Paul is a good guy and ran his previous tournaments very well. I have fished in them the last few years and really had a good time. I have no reserves about this merger and I think this will turn out to be a real positive for all. I Look forward to entering this year.

Curious to know if the Minnetonka tournament in October might return...

This is a great move on MAC's part. To get involved with an established trail before they even have their first tournament will definately up their attendance. IMHO, I think MAC realized they were going to have a hard time even coming close to filling their field. This merger will make this trail become the elite trail.
Congratulations to the MAC and the MMTT, I hope you guys have a GREAT season.

I like this idea, think I'm going to try the Leech Tourny, already talked to a buddy about it. This does mean there is only 1 Tourny on Leech for MAC/MMTT right?

Paul bounced this idea off a few of us in the TC area a few days back and everybody agreed it was a no brainer too many advantages,,Paul has alot on his plate now has he now runs the Minnesota Musky Expo-"Georges Musky show",,, two young children at home and his job that has him working different hours. He was losing fishing time now he has someone to takeover the tourney load.

Paul, the folks from Tuffy and I had spoken several times over the last few years about ways to grow the Minnesota events, and always came down to the same issues. The MAC spreads the commitment in time and labor out over a team, and has the backing from Tuffy Boats needed to make this entire project work.

Paul is a great tournament host and it is good to see him staying involved. He has done a bunch for our fish in Minnesota and for that I am grateful.
