I've been woundering WHY someone has not started an Eastern Muskie trail ?

NY, PA, NJ, WVA, OH, VA, Ontario, and KY. all have some pretty good muskies to hunt and I believe that there are quite a few muskie die hards that may be more intrested in an "East Coast" Trail than trying to fish the MN, WI, IL, Trails................... So let's hear from you East Coast Guys....... or Anyone who might have an opinion.

Later, Jerome

Quick Search on the web...Trinity Muskie Trail, looks like they currently have a KY division and are looking for an OH Director.

Well, I know for a fact that a serious Musky tournament is in the works for Ontario, Canada here in 2009. As for the other venues, I wouldn't worry too much. I'd expect that they will have access to a major circuit - or to a division of a major circuit - in the not too distant future.

My opinion is Geography. I live near Albany NY and fish muskies in northern NY and eastern/centeral PA, it's a 3-5 hour drive to get to good musky waters. I am used to making that drive for a musky trip...and the last thing I want to see is 50 other boats waiting there to fish the same waters when I arrive!!!!! As many have mentioned before, things are spread out here in the East. We don't have hundreds of lakes full of muskies within an hour drive. I guess that's the reason.

T-Musky,

You don't need hundreds of lakes, just a hand full.

You guys have some really Good waters to fish for muskies and some pretty good Sticks, that can't afford to travel 1,100-1,500 miles to fish the Trails in Mn. Wi. Il. Mi.
Soooo,,,,, Why not have an East Coast circut ?

Many of the PMTT guys travel 1,000 miles to fish Cave run for about 5-7 days,,,, every spring............. Why can't you East Coast guys travel 400-500 miles to fish muskie Events in your area ?? Is there just not enough intrest ?

Most people in the East make more money (as a whole) than we do in the Mid -West (except Chi Town folks) so I know "Youse Guys" can afford it.

I'd like to see an East vs Mid West Muskie Showdown in the future with a lot of the proceedes going to stocking or to benifite the fishery.

The problem I see is that you guys have to make one trip a year to fish Cave Run, the rest are in your back yard so to speak. Us east coast guys have to travel 1000 miles for each tourney. Plus guys can't always get 5 to 7 days off work for each tourney.

If someone has a strong a need for this in eastnern US then visit Atlantic City or travel west to fish one of the 10,000 musky contests over there.
