I am looking at swapping my 50 lb minn kota power drive for a 65 lb power drive to power my 1650 fishhawk (Dry weight 880 plus 70 hp 4 stroke and wide beam). The 50 lb barely gets the job done. I think an 80 lb thrust would rock but I have an opportunity to buy a 65 lb 24 v for 100 bucks more than I am selling mine, (with 2 new batteries included). Will the 65 lb do the job. Anyone have the 65 lb model on a similar boat? Thanks!!!!!

That'll definitely do the job for that rig, no problem. Being it's a 24 volt system, you shouldn't have any problems. I'd tell you to go for it, I know I would.

I have the 65# autopilot on my 1850 Fishhawk.
It works great I've fished 15 hours in a row and still had 50% when I was done.

I have a 65lbs 24 volt on a 16 foot sylvan deep v with a 90hp and 6hp kicker, i have never run out of power or thought i needed more power, even on a long day in the wind.

I have a 55lb Minn Kota Maxxum 24v on a 1750 Fishhawk and it is fine.....on high power even in a chop moves the boat too fast when casting. The 24v definetly helps in the battery life between charges. A 12hr day is no problem.
