Just wondering if anybody knows how to either keep the rubber strip which runs along the exterior rail of my Lund from marking up or how to get the rub marks out when it does happen.
New boat looks old because of the marks along this strip....drives me crazy!
I've tried Amourall,WD-40,even black shoe polish....nothing works!

Any ideas would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Thanks, Dennis

I know the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser things work well on skuff marks on my boat. I don't know how, but it does.

If it bothers you that bad, you could probably replace the insert portion of the rub rail for pretty inexpensive I would think. Don't know how hard it would be to do, but might be an idea.

Acetone will dissolve the rubber. Probably not a good idea.

I'm just saying acetone is a pretty harsh solvent that will eat rubber, plastic and paint. If you are going to use it be careful.

A light sanding with a 400 grit or so will clean any marks off of the rubber. 303 protectant will keep it looking good. I have also heard that some tire bleach stuff works good to but have never tried it.
