The REAL Problem

Having pondered over the past few years the plight of our country + the direction we are headed, I finally got a grasp on the reason why...BARNEY!!! I walked in the family room this morning + there he was...singing + dancing on TV, mesmorizing thousands of youngsters across the nation + wreaking havoc on parents trying to get their kids to get up + eat, wash up + the many other things they need to do...BUT NO...they just lay there + stare at that little purple foam filled freak acting like an idiot + getting paid millions to cause our children to rebel! Just try to turn off the TV to get the kids attention + see what happens...I'd rather grab a bobcat than endure the anger/wrath displayed when this is attempted...is there any hope??? I always felt that the Barney figure on top of his bunkbed was staring at me...taunting me w/ that vacant stare...sometimes when nobody was home I'd snatch him down + shake him yelling "what do you want w/ me"?!...he would just keep staring + say nothing....I mean who else can you punch in the belly + have them say something stupid + different everytime youdo it? Sorry to offend any Barney fans out there but I had to vent!!!!! I got the stuffings beat out of me by little sponges kindergarten class last week for singing "I love you, you love me...let's pitch Barney in the sea" + I'm still a little bitter over that one. Anyway maybe he will just go away + leave our kids alone.....[::)]

He's only the ring leader....the tip of the iceberg, so to speak. His followers, The Teletubbies, have also brought about the insanity of 'repetative brainwashing' to our kids.
The only place that I want to hear "AGAIN! AGAIN!" squeeled in a high-pitched voice is in the bedroom.....or for you Spongy....the back of a pick-up.
Let's get rid of all of the costume clad infidels and bring back The Three Stooges!!!! Let our kids grow up with the role models that we looked up to.
We turned out alright[:p] ....didn't we????

I've seen the cartoons our children watch,Where's all those do gooders when you need'em.Sorry but these are sad.I watch alot of cartoons. Some of the new are good( go power puff girls) but other really bite.I know Sponge was taking aim at these educational type shows but since my girlfriend boy is alittle older I 've had to suffer through Dragon ball Z,Pokemon and that Johnny Bravo........ugh please pass the bottle of Pepto.Thank the guy above for that other cartoons channel that got some of the old stuff and nicktoons.I guess I'll never get tried of Tom and Jerry and The Luney Tunes.Blummer

I just got Boom and have still yet to see my all time favorite cartoons: The superfriends!!!1 Nothing like watching wonderwoman in her invisible jet, and Aquaman talking to all the marine life.

Teletubbies?!!! They'd make good target practice.

Proof! Opened the paper today + read a report of a school bus that was pulled over on the interstate...2 14 yr. old girls got in a fight on the bus + they had to call the state police...other students + the driver tried to break them up but to no avail...they had just graduated middle school. No doubt Barney played a big role in their pre-teen yrs + the rage finally peaked a few yrs. later! Both girls were tore up like alley cats + are facing charges...it's time they banned this "purple crack" from the networks!
[:sun:]

*The other cartoons mentioned are educational, fun + teach self defense + are in no way intended to suck the sense out of our kids only to have them fall apart later!

Sponge, you are exactly right about Barney. Are you making a CD with your Barney song on it?[]
