I'm a big Suick fan and am curious if any of you have thrown the round belly version vs. the regular one? The cost is much more than the regular but is the action much different? Any thoughts?

The round belly design is the original suick design. So it's more of a throwback to the good old days when all the suicks looked like that. As far as a difference in the action you shouldn't see any difference. The round belly is just for the suick nuts that ran out of colors to buy.

I bought many old Suicks at antique stores and on ebay, and I think that there is a definite difference in action. Getting away from the square bottom on the newer Suicks, the old ones actually have some nice roll and flash to them instead of just coming in it a perfectly straight line when you give it a tug. The round ones are quite costly, but if you watch ebay or travel to antique shops, you can pick them up for much less. When I buy new ones to repaint, the first thing that I do is clamp them in a vise and round the edges on bottom and top.

What kind of price can one get for a old suick?
I have 2 that are in newer condition.
Thinking of selling.

I've seen them on ebay go for 10-15-20. Some that are in boxes and never thrown will get bought by collectors for more.
Got a picture

Beaver is 100% correct there is a significant difference in the action on the round belly Suicks. They seem to have a little wiggle action when working them in. Well worth the price they sell for. Jr.

Thanks for the insight guys. I love the Suick but don't have too many, just 5 so I certainly haven't run out of colors to buy yet! But, the round belly does intrigue me. I'll have to look around for them. Thanks!
