The video that was put up that Slamr did with Norm Wild and Steve Jonesi on what baits to use when is a great piece, but I have one question. How did Steve get the lip bent on the Big Game like that? Is it just heat and a straight edge? Also...is that a longer lip than stock? It looks a little longer. Thanks in advance!

I may not be a whole lot of help here but, I have several Big Games with lips bent for certain action. While I had Tony and Alex do it for me before they sent them out, I swear I was told they did it without even heating them up, but I am not sure if my memory is correct or not. I do know that my modified lures have the standard lip.

Matt,
No need to heat up the lip. I just use a strong pair of pliers. Be careful and hold the lip tight.Just the lip, so it's not bending from the body. Hope you like your "Magic Walleye"! Steve

Sorry for double posting on the other big game thread. This is the mod I was talking about. What does it accomplish? I imagine it makes it run deeper. Also, which sizes does this work for? And how much lip do you bend? Appreciate any info, thanks.

Just bend the lip from the end a quarter of an inch. I use sheet metal pliers, you can get them at most hardware stores, they are 4 inches wide at the jaws. You can use reg pliers but you"ll need to bend one side of the lip then the other because the plier jaws are not wide enough.
You will achieve approximately one more mile an hour and a foot deeper when trolling and just deeper when casting..
Hope this helps,

I bend the lip on the 6inch surface twitch and the 9 inch twitch. It will not help the 7, 8, or 12 inchers....

Thanks for the info Tony. One of mine was sold as a 5" at thorne bros. It has just two trebles. Is that actually the 6"? They had the 5, 7, 9 and 12. Your website doesn't list a 5"... just wondering which one I have. thanks.

Cast 10 K,
I dont make the 5 inch twitch any longer but I still make the 6, they both have 2 hooks. The best way to tell is simply measure it. Hope this helps, Tony
