2-4 inches today and an additional 1-3 tonight in the Milwaukee area. The further south you go, the greater the chances are for ice and a rain/snow mixture. From the Wisconsin border south, there is a wide purple band of a rain/snow/ice mix.
You guys heading down tonight, drive with care so you can use your new toys. We've got 2" on the ground in Milwaukee already.

Yep its looking nasty out there right now, that is why I called into work, they don't pay me enough to risk my life driving to work in the snow with all the crappy drivers in WI

And be safe at the show! Especially around me and Lambeau, who as highly appreciated, reveared (sometimes idolized) moderators literally have free stuff THROWN at us by vendors as we walk by.

Definitely be careful! As of 9:30 this am they are now talking 6-10 inches now when this is all over, in the Kenosha area and Illinois state line. Storm coming out of the Rockies will add more snow later. Travel times are terrible when I checked the local weather on the web. So be safe out there! I wish I could see all of you out there at the show but out of state for a funeral. Will see you all at the Milwaukee Show.

Just talked it over with my buddy and we're staying home. WI State Patrol map says everything from MIlwaukee south is snow covered and slippery. Road crews are holding off until it stops because they can't even get on 94, it's bumper to bumper and crawling, and there is another front coming in this afternoon or evening. Looks like I'll miss the Chi-Show again this year. That's OK, I'll go to Milwaukee and call the vendors that aren't there.
4" in Milwaukee and 7.5" at the State Line w/blowing and drifting. Even school's are closing early. The Kenosha County Sherriff called I94-"treacherous". They showed a camera on the scene, and the snow is light but blowing like crazy. Traffic was moving at 20mph on 94. I'm staying home. They keep saying that Racine and Kenosha is getting hit the worst and will continue to get hit.

Really comming down here in SW Michigan. A suggestion - if you have the interest and opportunity, borrow a CB radio and magnetic antenna from your favorite redneck. You can monitor the truckers' communication (channel 19) regarding road conditions. This sort of weather, with whiteouts and all, can lead to multi car messes that shut down highways for hours and hours. With a CB you'll know what's going on long before you catch up to the dreaded 14 mile long line of totally stopped traffic. The truckers will also let you know the detours around the problems. If you do get caught in a long traffic jam, with the CB you will know what happened, where it happened and how long you'll have to wait for the roads to be cleared. I've come to depend on a CB to monitor road conditions on all road trips. And that long antenna looks so cool.

last thing - if you want to follow up on this suggestion, maybe hit a local flea mall for used CB's and such. Very inexpensive gear and every single vendor in the mall can tell you exactly how to use it.

Roads weren't all that bad driving to work today (from Racine to north of Chicago) but man were there some idot drivers. I got the pleasure (hopefully he was okay) of watching a dude in a Lexus go flying by me in the snow, and not a half mile later, he was in the barrier. That was one of those moments where you smile and say, that's what you get buddy.

Leaving work soon and heading to the show!

We didn't really get much snow down here at all by the show, unless we get hit again there should be no worries whatsoever

I live in northwest Suburb and I checked weather in my hometown.....

Late evening and overnight.....might get between 2 and 4 inch of snow.
Saturday morning....light snow and party cloudy at night.

Drive carefully and see you in the Chicago Musky Show!

It's not doing anything down here now. It was snowing pretty hard this morning, stopped by about 9:30, though. Maybe 2" on the ground. Supposed to get another few inches overnight, tapering off to flurries in the morning. Doesn;t sound like its going to amount to much after all. Nowhere near the 8" they were predicting.

Freezing rain is now coming down on ROckford IL, hopefully by the morning time everything will be normal again. We also got around 2 inches of snow so far and more expected tonight. Travel in the late morning should be good I would think

You guys call yourself musky fisherman? It's only driving in some snow! Kidding, sort of. Take your time and get to the show safe. Sounds like the typical weatherman world is going to end report and then nothing happens.

I'm hoping for no snow in the mountains tomorrow as I trek through them.

Definetely getting somewhat ugly out there....a few more inches down and still coming hard. Local suburban roads are kinda crappy but the highways seem fine as of now...

We'll see what happens just drive safe

I think its going to be a bad night for Chicago, at least thats what the radar is showing. I wouldn't be surprised if it's still snowing at 8 am tomorrow, we will see. Be careful everyone and be careful of those around you.

Snow is so scary, isn't it? If it snows at all, I just stay home in my jammies where I'm safe and warm. Anybody that went to the show today is so brave. If any WI M1sters are too scared to drive home, I'm sure Slamr has some room at his place. Don't be shy, just ask him.

if i had the money to go to the chi show i would and not let some snow stop me. it might take me 3 times as long but i would get there. it amazes me how many people dont know how to drive in snow, go slow, pay attetion and stay off the phone. and rember 4 wheels spin on ice just as easy as 2. i have been driveing in wis for 16 years and have never slid off the road and never been stuck that i coulndt get myself out. SNOW = SLOW. so be safe and take it easy all you hunters going to the chi show.
