A few years back, my brother & I were out with Dave Dorazio on a lake near the Chip. It was early September and the air temps were still in the mid-80s. We fished from about 5 - 10 PM. We threw a Top Raider and Bootail until dusk. At this point we threw the Top Raider and the Creeper. It was a warm flat calm night. I had a musky hit the Creeper 3 times on the same retrive. First swipe ~ 20' from boat. Second swipe ~ 10'. Then I brought it in to an "L" and walked it around the nose of the boat where the musky blew it straight up in to the air. It was unreal, but I new felt any weight at all. Since it was dark, I never really saw anything either.

The only time I've ever thrown one is when it is flat calm and overcast or low light.

I had good luck on overcast days this year with them. Windy conditions too.

I got 2 fish on creepers this year, one was a 41 inch muskie at about 7 am just after sunrise off a shallow point. The other fish that I caught was a 5 inch bass, no joke. That was caught on a calm night about 3 days before the full moon cycle. In the past I have caught a lot of fish on the creeper at night on calm days in stump fields.

so no one is really using them through the day? I guess low light makes sense while using them

day or night, they're a good option to use when you know a fish is on a certain spot and you want to keep a slow-moving bait in it's face for awhile.

I am positive about when that bass was caught because it was 3 days before I caught my last fish of the season on wingra which was on 06-18-08 which was the full moon. If you want to catch small bass just go hit up wingra they are all over the f***ing place. If only we could use 8-10 inch bass for bait I would have caught tons more skis out of wingra.
