Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | Sugar Lake is really the only musky lake in real close proximty. But you aren't too far away from many lakes in the metro or Mille Lacs.

Location: Rhinelander | Or head the other direction to Alex. A few lakes in that area that hold good numbers. |

Location: Browerville, Minnesota | As Aaron said, the closest lake is Sugar. Only bout a 10-15 minute drive. However, the down side to that lake is it gets CROWDED because of that reason. Head towards the north and you have Mille Lacs, Cedar, Alex and Shamineau. They are anywhere from 25-45 minutes away. If you head towards Alexandria, you can fish Lobster, Oscar or Miltona. Little bit longer of a run, but good lakes. |

| I would suggest spending more time driving than fishing Sugar. It gets pounded during the summer and fish can be tough to fool into biting. I did get one out there, but tough going.
I had my best luck north, but I also have heard the Miss. River is a good option which I might try fishing more next year. Hopefully we can get some more stocked in this area for future fishing.

| I've done really well on Sugar. A lot of upper 40" fish with a few 50"+ fish mixed in. My advice is to get up early and stay late. |

| If I were you, get to know Miltona... some real monsters in that lake. |

| I fished Miltona for the first time this year. Did not land any, but saw a bunch. Saw one cruising that looked the size of a submarine. The most exciting one was chasing a bass I had hooked on a Senko and followed it, snapping at it all the way to the boat.

| I've fished Miltona and seen some well known guides on it. Some quite often. It has big ones.
