| Now that the season is over, I was curious if anybody noticed any difference in their catch rates between #10 and #13 double blades. Have the bigger blades paid off? |

Anyone try slow rolling these at night as they do with the 10's?

Location: Land of the Musky | I sold #13s this year and honestly they did not "fly" off the shelf. I think some guys think they pull really hard. My small Abu 6500 did ok with them. I did not boat any fish on them but got one hit/miss on Tonka. I did not fish much this year though and the double #13s only got about 2 hours of water time from me. I did not see a lot of talk about them this year either.

Between me and my buddy a total of 2 fish were caught on blades one on a DCG and the other on a Lucky 13 with #13 blades, both were caught by him, both were caught slow rolling the bait, definetly wasn't a good year for bucktails for us at all. |

Location: VA | I cant buy a fish on blades period. All I can get is a follow once in a while, thats it. I seen my buddy catch 2 on a DCG ...I just dont have what it takes! LOL

Location: Hayward, WI | I thought this would draw more attention too. I only have one big bladed bucktail - a Double Cowgirl. I caught around 5 fish on it this year, had a couple follows, and lost one or two on it. I think I have shied away from the even bigger 12s and 13s too, just because I figured they were too much. But, I am thinking more and more there isn't "too much" within reason.
Next year I should get some of those 13s and try them. A power handle made cranking the 10s easier than single 8s with a regular handle, so I'm sure 13s wouln't be THAT bad. I'm sure part of the slow start is anglers worrying that the huge doubles pull too hard. It crossed my mind too, but I think next year I'll order some Tacklebooty bucktails, and I might have to throw a 13 in there and give it a shot.
