| I have a few I am thinking about buying this winter. Poes Awaker, Salmo turbo jack jr., top raider, tally wacker, and the rumbler. What is the top 2 baits? Any other good producing tail spins? Dark or bright colors? Help!!!! I need some good advice.  |

Location: University of Hartford | Raider in baby loon, or that brown one that they have. Also I would grab an old pacemaker, (or new I just like old better) in black or purple lace.

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | Top raider in blackbird has been my best topwater bait hands down. There is just something about that particular bait that it runs just a little differently than the other 3 I have and it catches the most fish. |

Location: WI | Chopper, Top Raider and a Pacemaker would do the trick.......get a combination of dark and bright colored, but don't dwell to much on the color, it is the sound and the retrieve speed that is more important.

Location: madison wisconsin | I second what GOTONE said. Those are the my top 3. I would have to go with the pacemaker being #1. The ticking sound that it makes when the tail hits the middle treble hook is awesome. The chopper has an excellent pop sound to it and the tail blade is adjustable. You can buy choppers that have a piece that hangs out the back that the tail hits that is like the pacemaker but the sound is'nt as good IMO. Raiders have an excellent pop also, but I myself don't use them as much as the other two. |

Location: Hayward, WI | I have been using Pacemakers a lot the last two seasons and like them. I have the wood ones, but the new plastic versions sound nice too. Before that I used Holcombe tackle Stompers and they work well too. The Topraider is so popular that you probably couldn't go wrong with one of them either...for some reason I don't have one yet.
I would shy from the Poes Awaker. I watched a guy use one. First problem was it tangling with itself. I think the middle hook was the problem. After the blade fell out he didn't need to worry about the tangling problem anymore...

| Rylure Tapdancer, hands down the best made wooden tail spinner
and the original tail tapping lure.
Get a Husky, moves more water.
Want the lure to move alot of water and it makes more
tail wiggle and splash. Upsize the front hook to add
some more weight.
Ryan is on here alot, easy to get hold of.

Location: Twin Cities | I like lo(w)riders, I had a couple days this year where burning them produced REALLY intense follows and hits. That bait makes a crazy gurgling noise when cranked in fast. Otherwise topraiders and rumber's are great too. |

Location: Hugo, MN | I have always liked Stompers and Top Raiders, and Pacemakers, and Low Riders. I find myself throwing the same chewed up Stomper most of the time, unless I'm fishing at night, then I prefer a slower moving bait like the Top Raiders. They're all different and necessary. |

Location: WI | Rumblers are great, I would also consider a Teasertail even though they're not the best quality bait, they do catch fish! And they're a little lighter than a lot of wood baits so they don't tangle in weeds as much. I take the middle hook off and upsize the front one.
Lee's Chopper is on my list. I caught 2 fish on one while fishing with Tanner Wildes in August. Great lure! |
