Spring Bay and Cooks Bay were still open this morning. I checked Wayzata and and couple others and they were iced in. There is plenty of floating ice out beyond the landings though. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Will give it a shot around noon and see if they are still open. Got pretty cold last night with very little wind, so it may be over?

I haven't seen the lake today, Wed, but Tuesday Wayzata was skimmed over until about 2-3pm then totally gone. Greys is alot tougher to get to open water versus the Wayzata Yatch Club launch. Tuesday I broke through about 3/4 mile to get to open water but it was easy, just skim ice. Also caught my biggest ever yesterday. Big plastics and an ice chisel and you are in bidness.

I heard people are wrecking their trailers at that Wayzata landing. There is a huge hole off the ramp, so if you back it up off the ramp your trailer will fall right off the edge. I was told it was too shallow to launch the boat prior to the drop. Smaller boats should work just fine I guess, but the bigger rigs are taking a beating. Any truth to this?? This is just the info. I received.

I would definitely believe that. I fall into the smaller boat category and you do need to be careful, i've had difficulty. I watched a guy drop his wheels off the end of the ramp and the axle and trailer were resting on the cement, they had to off load the boat and reposition.

Damaged my trolling motor mount loading there on Thurs. That ramp is a beeyotch on bigger rigs. I can attest to that.

We didn't have any problems with that ramp yesterday aside from it was a little icy in the morning. I think if you don't back down quite as far as normal you'll be ok. Plenty of deep water right off the ramp, a little shallow after that. Yes, I love my roller trailer.

Ice - the reason I won't ever be able to own a Ranger.
