| congrats to the "Monkey Hunters" on their victory in yesterday's final match, making them the 2008 MatchFishing Champions!!!
to get there, they had to survive a gauntlet of round-robin pool play from May through August, and then win 4 straight single-elimination playoff matches, including yesterday's final match against runners-up "OMuskyO".
the Monkey Hunters and OMuskyO used similar strategies through the season, both posting multiple-fish days by targeting action waters. OMuskyO primarily fished in the Madison, WI area, whereas the Monkey Hunters hail from Pennsylvania, where they target river muskies.
congrats to both teams on making it to the end, and to Monkey Hunters on a great way to finish things off with a 3-fish day!

Location: Southwest PA | Howie,
Your ears must have been burning, we were just talking about you while we were on the river Friday.
Dave asked "What would Howie do".
I told him Howie would yell at him for having his sucker rod in a rod holder and not holding it in both hands!!!
It was great fishing with you, hope to do it again at next years outing.
Thanks again for a great time.

We couldn't have done it without the "Hook setting" class you provided while we fished "your spot".... What a first class blast we had. Don't worry, we can keep a secret! Rich and I are looking forward to fishing with you asap. Who knows maybe we can grab your German friend and go hunt speed goose (?) |
