Has anyone used any of the new manta's? I've heard about how good the old ones are, and I am thinking about possibly getting one. Was just wondering if the new ones were the exact same as the old ones?

I am from the Wausau area. When I noticed the new mantas were being made in Mosinee I immediately contacted River Run to get a few. I met up with the new owner at Gander Mt. in Wausau where he brought me all the colors and sizes I wanted and was very cool to talk to. That was probably back early in October. I had gone out a few more times after that and I'll say, now I have one of the new mantas rigged up at all times. Since purchasing the new mantas, I've fished a total of about 20 hours using them and caught two nice muskies, 37" & 42". I've had more luck though using the original (smaller) mantas than the hang tens though.
Anyways, the new mantas look great and have the same action as the old. The River Run website is up and running again and I'm sure anyone in the Wausau area would be able to meet up with the owner and avoid shipping charges like I did. I believe his name was Paul; I forget though.

I am looking to get a couple I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the super shallow ones? I am torn between getting one of each or 2 originals. I mostly fish creeks and a few lakes. Any thoughts? Also what colors does anyone like? I am leaning towards wild sucker and firetiger. Thanks

When I met up with the owner a couple months ago I got Lac Seuol Perch and Chartruese Bandit in Hang Tens which I have not seen a fish on yet. (althought I've thrown the hang ten's much less). I got a pumpkin perch original and a crappie tiger like color in super shallow. There is not a lot of difference between the original and super shallows. However, the two I've caught this fall were both on the super shallow crappie tiger pattern. Probably due to the fact that the lake I was fishing holds a ton a crappies as well. From my experience, if I were only getting one new manta I would go with the super shallow because it can always be worked slower or paused longer to get deep.

I've got a few of the super shallows, I usually fish those over weeds and such. I don't throw the regular's much. Hang 10's are nice too, easy to keep shallow and the new one's work just like the old one's.

Black and chartruese with black dots are my color choices.
