Location: Minnesota | That stuff works pretty good and is easy to tie........ BUT it is not long lasting like the real flashabou. If you fish a lure tied with that stuff hard for a day or two it will start breaking off and you will slowly deposit all of the icicle material in the lake. Eventually it will be so thin that you will have to rebuild it if you liked it enough. My guess is that would be about 20 hours of actual use. The good thing about it is it is cheap to experiment with.
Oh yeah - it doesn't like being cold either - it breaks really easy if you try and throw it in low temps like in late fall.

Location: Kodiak, AK | It is true that it's a bit more brittle, but I've not had any less use out of it. I've had it break when I slap a fly to get weeds off, but just for normal fishing and retrieves, I've not had it break. Maybe because I can't burn them like y'all can, and my retrieve is much slower and not as stressful on the stuff. |

| i used it on a number of bucktails this summer, i wasn't real happy with it. it's too stiff for my tastes and doesn't pulse like the real flashabou.
i've taken a liking to the magnum flashabou for d10s and d12s and the standard stuff for d8s.

Location: Kodiak, AK | And see, I like it more stiff (sounds weird) because I can use less material (and as such, less weight, water and wind resistance for casting) and still have a larger silouette in the water. "Extra limp" Flashabou lays down too much for me. |
