| What are you using to throw pounders. There has to be something to make throwing these beasts a little easier. Thanks |

| Soon to be 9' Professional Edge Rod built off the St Croix Legend blank....
Go with a longer rod to make it easier...St Croix has a new "Sling Blade" rod that I think would be good for it as well...or the 8'6" Legend |

Location: Medford, WI | Best Advice: Get yourself a 2-pounder; throw that for about half an hour (or a few hours), and then strap on your pounder. You'll hardly even feel it. Jerome really liked my theory on that!
I have an XH 8' Shimano Compre; and I really like using it for the pounders as well as most other baits I throw. I'm sure there are better rods to use with it, but probably not in the $100-120 price range.

| Well, I was using a 8' Gander rod but too much work. Then I saw some other guys flinging those things all day and just dont get it. Maybe 9' rod????? |

Location: Twin Cities | I don't think of it so much as "throwing" or "flipping". It's more like gently lobbing them out. It's work no matter how you do it, i've got two bigger compre rods and like them a lot. |

| The musky Innovations 8.5'super mag rod is unbelievable. It comes in 8' 8.5' & 9 '.
I threw a pounder for a whole day acouple of weeks ago for the first time for that period of time. I can only say that the MI rods are some of the best Rods I have ever used.

| When you threw them all day did you catch anything? Just wondering because I think it's alittle overkill but you do what you have to. |

| You also need the right reel for the job also. I had a idx250 first, and had a little trouble. I stepped up to a Calcutta 400, and the size of the spool really helps out with holding the bait. Both of these reels I put on a Gander Mntn rod. - Extreme Tournament Muskie 8' XH. It's only rated up to 9oz. but throws the Pounders no problem. |

Location: blekinge//sweden | I have tried MI rods, st croix and The hammer rods.
The rod that gets the most time is by far the hammer rod, exelent for pounders.
