Location: Athens, Ohio | Caught by 14 yr. old Sarah Terry while fishing with her step-dad, Scott Salchli, who is one of Tony's (best) guides. This is her first muskie casting, and she nailed it on a Figure 8.
Congrats to Sarah and Scott. If she doesn't decide to take up golf instead, now, watch out Lucky Libby! m

| Sara Terry daughter of Scott and Mary Kay Salchli landed this beast today at 4:30 Scott called me I was fishing nearby and called me over when I seen the fish I knew it was a monster, after I girthed it I new it was the biggest ever taken in Ky. Sara wanted to release it even after the calculations showed it well past the state record. The fish had just used too much energy and wouldn't stay upright. Sara after casting her purple and gold Cowgirl told Scott that she saw something at boatside. Scott told her to stick the lure back in the water and figure 8 she did and on the second figure 8 it ate it. She did a great job. Also Scott is probably the best on Cave Run and again his expertise paid off. Hats off to Sara and Scott....If someone would let me e-mail the photo to them we can get it posted, I can't seem to get it done right. |

Location: Athens, Ohio | I spoke to Scott last night, Sarah has been interviewed by several local papers, a TV station called, Muskies Inc is setting up an interview; she's on 'cloud nine'. The bait she used was one she won at the Muskies Inc. International meeting down there the week before.
To answer Johnson's question, as Tony stated, even after Sarah learned this could be a new record, she wanted the fish to live. The cowgirl was inhaled deeply. They worked the fish quite a while before realizing it would not go. The fish was taken to certified scales and witnessed by DNR, it is an official new state record. I hope this record stands until Sarah is 41. m |
