Location: Ohio | I am looking at a boat with a Mariner outboard, does anyone have any experience with these? It's a 9.9 long shaft.
Thanks for any help |

Location: West Chester, OH | Early Mariners were, I believe, made by Yamaha. Sometime in the late '80's, they became Mercs w/different paint & decals. |

Location: Ohio | Thanks for everyone's help. I thought they were made by Mercury, but wasn't sure. So water pumps, impellors, etc. are interchangable between Mariner and Mercury?

Location: Chicago | I got a 1967 Mercury 9.9 (kiekhaefer) that I use, starts on one pull and runs without problems. Lots of available parts (with a little searching) and a lot of them are interchangeable. Great motor IMO. Dave |

Dave, thanks that's good to know.
On a side note... I bought the boat!
It's a nice 97' 14' Starcraft. |
