Location: North East PA , 20 mins from Chautauqua | any special tactics for fall tiger muskies ? I did fairly we.ll over the summer fishing the outside weed edge with chop baits and short line trolling the edge . I have never fished for tigers in the fall season with water temps in the high 50's will the tigers still be on the edge or should I try deep trolling ? Or possibly might they be burried in the weeds > Just looking for any tips on tigers in colder water . thanks in advance for any tips .

Location: Ogden, Ut | Well, I have no weed edges after about the first part of July to fish since the reservoir drops all summer here. I just basically continue to fish the bottom contour structure elements. Some of the mid-reservoir structure that was 40' down at full pool become pretty good. Pay attention to where your baitfish are and what they are doing and you'll do fine. I fish them reasonably successfully right to ice-up.
I have done pretty good in the fall by putting on a very small crank and trolling it right up against shore w/ a planer board. I do tend to troll more in the fall. And to confuse the issue even more, last fall I got a significant number of my bigger fish open water trolling - go figure. What's that about rules?

Clint, apparently you missed the recent 900 post threads about trolling. It's for lazy, old, or disabled fishermen. And for ladies that are too delicate to cast for extended periods. I know you're a healthy, active, young man. Why do you troll?
Trolling. It's worse than using live bait.

Location: NW PA/Allegheny River | The tigers will not be as sensitive to cooling water as pure bred muskies.......they should be thriving in the upper 50's and low 60's. |
