Location: Lake Tomahawk, WI | I was working, but Mark put 5 in the boat, including this upper 40 incher and saw a bunch more. These October warm snaps have historically been good to us!

Location: Rhinelander. | what are you guys loseing so many fish on? I would think if you lose that many you would change something up. I know you all know to have sharp hooks and the basics but seems like alot of lost fish. Are you all fishing with the low strech lines (superbraids)?

And the weekend was very good, relaxed and drifted with a few suckers out and had good success.

| 2 in the boat, 2 missed on baits, one missed on a sucker.
Anyone else having them take the sucker by the head this weekend? Heard of at least 2 others who had the same issue. |

I took out Corey Nazer, co-owner of 'Llunge Tackle, and he got his personal best. I had raised the fish in some shallower water and told him that we'd give the fish a little while and come back on it. After about 2 hours, we went back and he raised it again...so I was going back to it around the outside and told him to cast towards the area, thinking maybe a different angle would do the trick. He was in the process of asking me what bait he should switch to when I saw him slam the hooks into the fish. A quick battle and there was a 50"er in the net!!!
I had 7 follows on Saturday, but no takers. One hit Sunday morning, had on for about a second, and then Sunday afternoon was when they seemed to get more active. He caught it right around 1:15 and the next 2 hours we had 3 different fish follow several times. Only one fish in the boat for the weekend, but watching his face when we got her in the net was priceless. Not sure what's better now...seeing somebody get their first musky or their first 50"er. Congrats Corey on a beautiful fish!

| Don,
some of our lost fish were just beak hooked...some were on suckers where we didn't get hooks into them, some were on for a bit and shook baits.... sometimes that's just the way the cookie crumbles..nobody gets em all ...suckers are always a crap shoot... try getting 16 hits in a weekend and landing of them...let me know how it goes. |
