Location: Storm Lake, IA | I purchased a unweighted suzy sucker earlier this year and have used it very little. I just don't have the confidence in the lure and after about a half hour of casting I give up and switch. I have tried straight cranking and ripping it through weeds, but like I said not a whole lot of water time. I was curious if any of you have had much luck with it and what your prefered methods of fishing it are? |

| Have not used the unweighted Suzy Sucker, but have used the unweighted Curly Sue. It certainly requires a VERY slow rhythm and short pulls/jerks/twitches, IMO. That said it stays above weeds, timber, and rocks just like its designed. However, for me personally it was a little too light and for me was tough to slow down the retrieve. The nose of the bait would pop up to the surface (not necessarily a bad thing, but I prefer the fully submerged glide).
So instead of tossing it in the corner of my garage, I took a bell sinker (don't know what size...) and added it to the front hook hanger. BINGO! Problem solved. It now sits goes with me wherever I travel and is usually among the first baits thrown (trying to wean my way toward using more soft plastics). With the bell sinker you can keep the nose down and maintain the relatively shallow running depth it was designed for. I'd say try the bell sinker thing and see how you like it. |

| I throw Suzies everytime I go muskie fishing. I like the 11" better but both see time in the water. |

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan | they catch fish. i use them like a jerkbait with harder/sharper pulls. Just use them for a day and i think youll gain confidence in them. |
