Anybody used these? I was thinking of getting a couple to maintain my trolling and cranking batteries in the boat over the winter instead of taking them out and putting them in the garage and topping them off once a month, anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks!

I keep one on my ice shack in the winter to maintain the battery....I power the lights, and radio with it....I use it alot in the winter and haven't had it fail me yet...

I cant remeber how many watts the solar panel is but its not a very big one...Maybe 3" x 9"...Very happy with it for how I am using it....

Do you know if you can get them to work on the boat? Such as on long trips without power, could they be connected to provide power to batteries while fishing? Or do they not have that much output?

Thanks.

The ones I mean cost under $30 and are the size mentioned above. They have a very small output and are only good for maintaining a charged battery from what I read, they won't charge at a high enough rate to recover a battery, only trickle to maintain them.

No reason to worry about this in the winter. If your battery is good, and fully charged, the cold won't harm it, No reason to take it out of the boat either. If you are concerned about something draining the battery down, just disconnect the Pos cables. I usually keep mine plugged in all the time, but mine is kept in a heated garage, so it is convenient for me to do this.

Just in case if you're still interested in a solar maintainer.
