Location: In the cabbage | Right now I musky fish with a 6'6 browing citori and a bigger shimano reel, Im getting a baitcaster setup from my wife for my birthday she told me to pick one out. Has anyone used the abu garcia 7000i? and for a rod I was thinking about having one made. any suggestions? The only stip is the real has to be left handed ( the crank on the left hand side ) for some reason even tho im right handed i bait cast left.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | You can buy the Okuma Induron 400 left handed, and the matching 8'6" telescoping rod for about $250.00 for the setup. Nice stick, nice reel, good folks, too. |

Location: In the cabbage | From what I gather the okuma stuff is super heavy duty, I understand musky are huge fish, I always prefer MH tackle. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The Okuma is not 'super heavy' at all. You can get the stick in Heavy, too. Both are fairly soft tipped, which I like, and will throw anything from 6" cranks to double 10s easily. |

Location: In the cabbage | I just bought the Okuma Induron 400 ( lefty ) Can any one suggest a rod thats medium heavy to heavy action thats not super long? Im looking for a rod that can do it all ( which doesnt exist but the closest thing to it )

Location: Iowa Great Lakes | Closest rod I have to throw almost anything is my Thorne Bros C series. I'll trust it to anything but 11" curlie sues and pounders. Handles big fish with ease to. For having one made try Keith at Pro Edge. |

| Check out the Maina rods by Bass Pro Shops. They too are softer tipped, not too stiff, and are rated to throw heavier baits as well as lighter stuff. I have the 8 footer Heavy (telescopic) and two of the 7'4" heavy rods. They're only like $100 bucks with a great warranty. What I like most of all is the weight balancing system that comes with them, as well as their nice long butt section. Wait, that reminds me of a song.
