Every fall I realize how small the big glide bait lure selection is. I'm talking about glide baits 9" or larger. I'm not too crazy about what I got and I don't know what to try next. My Hang 10 works nearly ideally, but it fouls way too often no matter what leader I use. I've sworn to never throw the bait again after the last time it fouled with musky behind it. I also have a Wabull, which sinks a little too fast for how long I pause. A bigger Hellhound would be perfect, hint hint to ERC.

So, I was hoping to get a few opinions on the other options that are out there. 9" Dunwright Dancer? I'd rather not drop the bucks for an Amma Bamma or Smuttly Dog. Am I missing anything?

You also might try the TurmoilX gliders. They will boat you some fish too. Fantastic paint jobs and tough finish to boot! You won't go wrong with anything from Beaver either! One of each would be my suggestion Honestly you won't find a mass produced lure better than these two guys can make and this is coming from a guy who is about to mass produce glide baits! These guys build one at a time and each water tested. They are both master bait builders...

I don't know if Beaver has a website. Not in his profile...

The TurmoilX looks pretty cool, but only 7". I'm looking for something a little bit bigger.

If you can find some Ben-E-Baits, they're pretty nice. I think the two that I have are between 8 and 10". They've got a nice big profile, and aren't that difficult to use.

Jed might have something bigger if you email him. Lots of these guys have some really cool lures that are not on thier websites. Not sure if he makes a ~10" TurmoilX or not???

10" Perka from Beav. A WA Series Wabull fishes bigger than an 8" bait also; the twister tail on the end gives it a much longer appearance.

This might be what you are looking for. 27 inches of glidetastic wonderfulness....and the thing actually does have good action to it.

Second vote for the WA Wabull -- the soft tail gives it a lot of extra "hang time"..

I was at Reeds Country Store a couple months ago, they had a Hughes River glider that was like two foot long and wanted $125 for it. Actually, they had two of them. Never saw one that big before, or that expensive. m

Ulbian......how much does that thing weigh/cost. That is HUGE. There is no way that thing would ever see water if i owned it but it might appeal to the large manta guys haha.

Wait until the hockey season starts, and I can drop some off at The Nitty Gritty any Friday or Saturday night that there is a home game.
Beav

Anyone else looking for 10"ers, send me a PM. I'm emptying my tacklebox. After trying to throw some up at Cass last week, I've come to the conclusion that I just can't handle the big lures any longer. Physically, can't handle it for long at all. Not worth the pain.

I think they're around 13" +/- with the tail. I'll be making a run in the next few weeks.
