| This past week while using my new LCX 28c HD, I was having problems with losing a depth reading. While running, I would occasionally lose the depth-it would start flashing 1.1 feet or some similar number. This was not while running over shallow water. The lost reading also did not happen under similar circumstances-I lost it over smooth water at 30 mph-lost it right on startup-lost it after running for 15 minutes-lost it in 3 footers at 15 mph. My initial thought is transducer placement. I used the same mounting holes from the previous transducer, and it seems to me that the transducer is in a good location, but I've been wrong once or twice in my time. |

Location: Laona, WI | momuskies; I just had the same problem with my Lowrance. I tried everything under the sun and moon. I finally replaced the transducer and problem fixed. Seems there was a crack in the transducer up by the mounting hole. Never thought that a crack there would make a difference, but it did. Works like a charm now. LOL, paramuski |
