Wanting to know thoughts on the Super D mags vs. the Mag Dawgs....action, durability, etc. etc. Due to the price differences it's hard not to take a look at the Super D's, just want to make sure people have had success with em. Thanks

Run a search on this forum for the Super Ds. Plenty of info on here about them.

they will both get ripped up in pretty short order, definitely like some of the color combos on the super Ds. i think the dawgs repair better with the torch.

I guess my question was more centered on the action differences between the two. I've heard the Super D acts more like a jig than the dawg which has more of a sideways glide, I'd like to pull the trigger and buy some but want to know if the action is close to that of the dawg. Love dawgs just tired of torching/exploding/replacing them.

D's drop faster, more like a jigging action.

Still trying for my first fish on one.

I use Super D's quite a bit. I used a Mag Dawg once. After using the Super D's I did notice the Dawgs fished much shallower if I fished them the same. The Super D's do have somewhat of a hop to them, and seem to sink straight down more so than glide down.

If you bend the D's belly up into a slight 'u' shape they will glide side to side some on the pull, and will hang just a little bit more than normal. I do this to a lot of mine.

They might be different, but they do catch fish. I don't know if a Dawg would catch more or not. I do know the D's catch fish, and cost less. They don't seem to self destruct by just fishing them. They are soft plasic, and can get tore up by fish though. Having the tails cut off by wildly shaking fish has been my only durability issue with them, but this will also happen with Dawgs from what I hear.

Just an FYI...New regular size shallow SuperDs will be ready in 8-10 weeks and the new plastisol is about 10%-15% more "hard" but that was the most I could go without compromising the tail action. Also made some changes to the harness (more coil and less “nub” at the rear of the back hook area) and the area right before the tail (made the body thicker). I will have 42 colors for the four sizes of SuperDs coming if all goes well and my wife does not kill me for my “hobby”. Yep, 42 colors for the MEGA-Ds too!!! I don't think you guys will have a problem finding at least one color you like. LOL Even have an all silver/chrome one I am making. Same prices and they are costing me about 15% more to make this go around due to the improvements. I really hope these new ones will catch 10 plus fish each on average (or more) as long as the tails don't get bitten off by the hammer handles One of my customers has caught over 20 (musky&pike) on one SuperD. Said it looks like Frankenstein now but its still fishing. I also want to say thanks to all of you over the last year+ for the great comments (good and bad). Love those negative comments as they have brought you Generation III SuperDs in less than 18 months. Really the SuperD is a customer creation as well as all the colors. I just handled the project management from 9pm to midnight everyday
Thanks,
James

Here are some of the new silver SuperDs. These are just made from a junky molde but I think you get the picture on the colors. 24 current and 18 new colors coming soon! LOL these silver ones were actually screw-ups but a lot of guys liked them so I am keeping them in the lineup. Wonder what a musky thinks about a "Terminator" line of superDs?

All I know is that they catch fish! And some big ones at that. I'll sacrifice a lure for a fifty incher anyday. Great baits.

All I can say is no more bulldawgs are in my box. James is a great guy and makes some great baits and the improvements keep on coming. In addition he supports our veterans which gets my support 100%!
Thanks again James!
