Inspite of great looking weather conditions for muskie fishing, North Twin was very stingy this weekend. We saw one "monster", had a 36" or so, miss a topwater in spite of a huge strike/splash, saw 5 others, boated a 26" northern, and destroyed the face of another northern, with my hookset that, made the mistake of hitting my 8" Slammer Crank at the same location that I had seen the monster.

Fished for 6 hours on saturday. Had 3 over 45" follow to the boat. No takers though. Good sign to see them up shallow though. Maybe the cool weather is going to get them moving again...August was tough.

Well, no muskies, for obvious reasons Went out trolling for some pike, to capture on video, got quite a few 30-35"ers but I managed to stop the recording, when I put the archos down in my pocket... stupid!stupid!stupid!
Did get an Asp, which is always nice, they fight better than any pike twice and three times their size, no teeth tho.
Hope to bring some toothy videos next time.

Ted, a great guy and very good 'toothy critter' angler visiting us from the Netherlands and I spent Saturday chasing Muskies on Pelican while the Kevin Worrall Memorial crew competed. We boated a shortie and moved a couple good ones. Sunday we hit a local puddle and moved several really good muskies on Cranks, but the window slammed shut after a very active hour or so and it was a no go until dark as storms coursed through the area, when one of those big girls slapped a Weagle out of the water. Stupid fish...
We did sit through a heck of a thunder storm by a dock on shore, the hail bouncing off Ted's rain hood was quite a sight!
Slamr took Ted on George Saturday evening while we distributed the prizes from the Kevin Worrall Memorial, they moved a couple fish, but again, no go. Thanks again, Slamr, for taking Ted out, he had a great time.
Ted did get his first Muskie earlier in the week with Norm, boating and releasing a dandy 43" hybrid. I think Norm has a picture, if so he'll post it.
We moved lots of nice fish, but just couldn't get them to pin up. Ted was hell on wheels on the local Pike, though. I'm already looking forward to fishing with you next year, sir!

Boated 6 and lost 2 with the biggest being a 48"er caught on a Big Game crank bait. I was fishing with Jeff and Jason King of Webster Lake guide service. Water temps were 75 degrees.

Was out on the Mad Chain both days this weekend. Did not move a fish on Saturday. On Sunday, my partner got his first, a 35 incher. I also got a 35 incher. But that was it. Water temps. looked good but the fish were VERY stingy.

JohnMD,
The mist rising off the water was the result of the heavy hail falling, then the sun coming back out and rapidly warming things up, looked pretty cool.
