Location: New Jersey | I use 130lb seaguar flourocarbon and tie directly to line using an albright special knot. It is about the only knot i can tie using 130 lb leader material.
I dont night fish all that often, but i was fishing LOTW last week and in stained water you cant really see your lure coming. I kept slamming my swivel into my tip top, so i went to the albright.
Seems pretty good, i hope others will chime in.

| Doubke Uni-knot, just like tying your braid to your mono backing. I did this for a season or two and it made me nervous, so I switched to Stealth leaders. I've never had a problem with them, and I probably wouldn't have considered switching back if not for the fact that Herbie and his guides all tie flouro right to the line. If they trust it, I guess I should, too.
What I like about doing this, especially at night, is that when you hear/feel the knot going through your first few guides you know how much line you have out without having to look. If I'm using a leader with a barrel swivel, every now and then I get distracted abd reel the swivel right up to the rod tip

| I would not suggest using 80 pound Power Pro as I have seen it snap very easily at least 10 times in the past 2 years on backlashes.
Also, 100 pound is a little light as well.
I suggest using 100 pound power pro and then using 130 Seaguar. Also, if you get the "feel" down, you don't need to tie directly to the line. |

Location: Hugo, MN | Or just get some soft beads and put them on all your setups just above the ball bearing swivel. Presto, no rod tip damage. |

Location: Yahara River Chain | Slip bobber knot on the line would work as well. Index finger picks it up as it enter the spool.

| 80#Bronzeback to 80#Seaguar works perfect, exactly was addict says is correct Herbie and his Guides run this setup.....and put Big fish in the boat every year! Keep and eye on it and you'll be fine, and don't worry about the 80# seaguar it's stronger than you think just watch for abbrasions. |
