Location: Glenmoore PA | Any body have experience with this reel? I am thinking of picking one up. Its got a 4.1 ratio. I want for reeling in those big 10's and some other big baits.

| I just picked up this reel about a month ago. Hasn't been used much but has been really well so far. This reels in Double Cowgirls VERY easily. However, they aren't coming in very fast. If your looking to burn them this is not the reel. I would recommend this reel.

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | I disagree. I have a very easy time keeping my baits just under the surface. Try adding more line to the reel so that it is filled to the top of the spool. Increasing the diameter of the line on the spool increases the amount of line picked up per rotation. |

I got used to the weight, but it does tire you a little more. As for the size, the bigger the better for me. I have a very wide hand and can palm these. The reason I say the bigger the better for me is b/c with a smaller reel, my hand is clenched in a smaller position, thus leading to more cramping and fatigue b/c my hand is in a more clenched position. With a larger reel, my hand is spread apart more so less cramping and fatigue. Most people like a smaller profile reel, even a low profile, when they need to get some relief from fatigue. With me it works the opposite; the smaller the profile the reel, the more my hand fatigues b/c of the more clenched hand position. Think of it this way, if you grab a pencil, your hand is in a very tight, clenched position. Grab the end of a baseball bat, your hand is spread wider. This is the way it works for me and why I prefer a larger reel. |
