Wondering if anyone can give any direction of fishing Lake Minnetonka. I have fished Vermilion and Duluth area lakes my whole life and don't have much experience fishing the Mille Lacs / Minnetonka type waters. I just moved down to the Twin Cities and planning on hitting Minnetonka hard from Sept. through ice-up. My perception is that the generic pattern is fishing deep weed lines with Bulldawgs and double tens or the occasional slop / milfoil fisherman with spinnerbaits. Any info would be great, I appreciate your advice.

Went out the other night and did well on weedy humps wtih dobule #10s and #13s. 47" and 48" boated with some nice follows. My suggestion is to get a good map and go where you think they will be. Minnetonka has soem good fish in it. JMO but you will get the same length on Mil Lacs but they will be much heavier on da pond than Minnetonka. Seen soem great fish come out of both lakes!! I think you will be happy fishing both over the next few years. Waconia has a few hidden gems too. 56" caught this year and a few 50"+ too. Too bad it was not me

Twincitiesmuskiesinc.org is our website. Lot of tonka people in the group, Pres and Me won the PMTT, and also won the champ out there, lot of seasonal migration and diffferent pattern as the year progress. Josh Borovsky guides out there and know the lake well, he does of a 3 nite package for getting people familiar to the metro patterns, so you can pick 3 bodies, or just hit one 3 time. His web promusky.com.
Come to meeting, it is the 2nd tuesday of the month, I will be at the welcome table, and talk more about tonka.
