This was on another board and had a lot of activity so I thought it would go over well here also...

If you could endorse 3 fishing products what would they be?
Here are mine:
Ranger Boats
G Loomis
Humminbird

This list could go on and on with all the equipment we use...but just try to stick to the top 3.

You can have a beer endorsement but not condom endorsements; very irresponsable.

no. it should expand choices without raising costs. this was a key aspect of obtaining government oversight approval. i'm generally opposed to regulating markets, but this is an example of when it helps protect consumers from the risks of monopolization that you're suggesting.
i won't have to buy both services to get certain channels i want that are only offered by one or the other.

it seems though there were advertisements that represented the merger to increase subscription costs to users ... at least during the time when the activity began. if that has changed then i haven't heard what you are reporting yet. will have to go check it out.

but, for sure great product!

Rad Dog and Harraser are the best value in fishing lures. Quality is second to none as well as big fish track record throughout time.

St. Croix. The only decent USA made rod anymore. Diamondback went to China!

Fenwick rods, and I still love their 7 ft. musky blank, even after repairing the reel seats on two of them.
Mepps/mister twister- so many fish caught so many ways in so many different places
Rapala same reason as mepps/mister twister
Garcia 5600's, my extensive collection, once repaired, will bring my survivors tens of dollars!

If we were limited to making endorsements on musky stuff, I would probably mention something about my favorite bait, but since they no longer make a model that works worth a rip, eh, why bother.

Wow, never thought about it. There is a lot of equipment I really like but if I had to go with three these are them.

ABU 7000C3 Synchro reels.

Spiderwire Braid

Eagle Tails

There is so much good equipment out there it was tough to choose, but these three I just take for granted. They always work and they have lasted for a long time under hard use. What more could you ask for?

How much choice would you have when they BOTH go out of business on their own? Besides, free radio is a choice.

Anyway, not including the lucrative Team Arbogast endorsement that I already signed, I would go with:

Zebco
Oddysey (sp?)
Whoever makes the Burmek (Uncle Josh?)

Whoever is going to give me the most fee stuff or pay me the most money. Isn’t that how it’s normally done.

Considering I am not a guide and fish tournaments independently and never see having any true endorsements, my top choices for honest to goodness quality products are the following:

St. Croix Rods – Customer Service is the key
Abu Garcia Reels – Customer Service is again the key
Frabill Lure Retrievers – Worth more than it’s weight in DCGs
Suick Thrillers – Sometimes it tough to beat old fashion productivity.

Nail A Pig!

Being a guide, it's not about the free stuff with me. I seek out the companies owning the products I believe in. I get a deal, great. If not, I still use them and endorse them. That said (it's tough to limit to three):

Lamiglass Rods
Frabill
H2O Tackle
Live Action Lures

i think he's saying that if they hadn't merged, they both would have gone out of business, leaving us with no choice between them.
having the option of purchasing satellite radio or not, is better than none at all.

ok ... i really tried to understand the question ...

i would rather have satellite for the reception in remote areas than the uninterupted listening ... i say give me satellite with the advertisements like conventional radio.

An interesting question. I shoot underwater video that is sometimes seen on TV. IF ..... an opportunity presented itself to have my footage, or a segment on a show sponsored by a corporation, an ideal fit would be humminbird sidescan, or other sonar manufacturers. Another good sponsor might be an underwater camera system company.

Those would be the sponsors I could do the most for. Baits/lures would be a good situation as well. In truth, any ETHICAL sponsor would be welcome. I have some standards, and I won't violate them for a few bucks.

As I support catch and release Muskie fishing, I do have some stipulations in my standard agreement that discourage the use of footage in advertisements that are contrary to that practice.

I agree, there are lots of great fishing related companies out there whose products I use and love. Naming just 3 is difficult.

Anyway, here's 3 I couldn't do without.
1) Shimano. IMO, hands down there is nothing even close to the quality.
2) thorne brothers musky store. They have all the stuff I need/want with a great staff, a few of which I have become friends with.
3) stowmaster nets. Great quality with an innovative design.

A close runner up is grim reaper lures. Quality construction on their spinnerbaits, and the triple threats have caught more fish for me than all my other 500 baits COMBINED!

Also, as mentioned in an earlier post, the old diamondbacks are the BEST rods I've ever touched. Too bad what happened to them now.

Randy
(if I was to choose by the companies ability to pay the most amount of money, it would be Ranger, Lowrance and pure fishing)
