Location: Bowling Green, KY | Has anyone out there ever seen a performance change when changing from one type of 2 cycle oil to another? A friend of mine says his merc 200 efi runs
significantly better with quicksilver oil than it did on his old oil which I think was
citgo. He is pre mixing his. I have a 60 hp johnson that I'm running Pennzoil XLF
in because it is readily available at the local wallyworld and the only place around
to get a BRP branded oil is Gander Mtn. and they are extremely expensive on
all their 2 stroke oil. I have only had this motor about 3 months and I'm starting
to realize it isn't going to eat that much oil so cost may not be as much of a factor
and performance becomes more important. Thanks, Roger London. |

Location: Elk River, Minnesota | Hi,
About the only difference I have been able to see in any type of oil is how much smoke and residue you get. I happen to run Amsoil HP injector, and I love the stuff. It burns clean which in effect keeps the carbon build-up on the plugs down to a minimum. I can troll all day and not foul a plug. I think the biggest thing is sticking to something synthetic, and I believe the penzoil you are running is a synthetic...not sure on that though..
If you like it, and it doesn't load up your engine, and it is TCW-3 compliant, no need to switch in my mind...

Location: Kronenwetter, WI | Don't feel bad at that price----I have to run Evinrude xd-50. Gander sells for $44 a gallon. Those running E-Tecs are paying even more for the xd-100. $33 a gallon's not bad if that 's what it takes to keep your engine running as it should. |

Find a dealer that sells in bulk. Take in your container, they fill it. I pay $21 per gallon for Opti Oil, and I buy 5 gal at a time.

Look elsewere, I bought 1 gallon at Gander, and was shocked, stopped at Holiday by Mill Lacs, picked it up for 34, then went next door to REeds and it was $31

What dealer might sell in bulk? A marina?
I'd like to do that but not sure where to start looking. |

| Roger,
I have cases of the QUICKSILVER PREMIUM PLUS 2 CYCLE TC-W3 Outboard for sale for $51 each or $17/gallon. (There are (3) 1 gallon jugs in each case) You will not find this cheaper anywhere on the Internet. I have a few pallets full that I am trying to get rid of.
We also have some of the Quicksilver Premium Outboard Oil for $15/gallon (Red Label) or $45/case.
Please email me at [email protected] or contact Jeff at 330-421-1557

| I to have been running the Johnson /evinrude XD 52 since I've owned my boat! Is there anything cheaper out there that won't change the life or performance of my motor! Wal=Mart sell johnson/evinrude all purpose 2 stroke oil. Is this anything like the XD52? Thanks...Brian |

Location: Southern Ontario, Detroit River and Lake StClair | I have a 1993 50hp Merc that literally gets hundereds of hours a year put on it. I'm lucky enough to only live 5 minute from the ramp to my favorite lake. I've been running Amsoil HP injector as a pre-mix for it for so long that until recently I forgot the difference between it and other oil. 2 weeks ago I was fuel up and realized I was out of oil. I bought the "Station Brand" TCW-3 oil and ran that day on it. OMG.......I couldn't wait to get off the water. The smoke and fumes were terrible. The motor also trolled like crap. When I got home I dumped the tank into my sons dirt bike and completely refueled with the good stuff. I had just replaced the plugs the week before and pulled them that day to check them after running the crap oil. They were caked with carbon so bad I just tossed them and put new ones in. I though it was a little extreme for only a days use. I wont be making that mistake again. The good oil is deffinantly worth the difference in price in my opinion.
Good Fishin'
