| Thanks to some kind words from some gentleman on this board I thought I'd go ahead and create a separate thread on this.
Last Thurs. night (8/14) I got to witness one of the coolest things in my fishing life. Around 11:00 I heard Kevin say something and I looked back just in time to see him haul off on a fish at boatside. As I'm watching this I see Karen who's standing between us set the hook on hers... it wasn't more than two seconds after the first one. So I'm watching them BOTH fight big fish in the dark and now I start to wonder how in the world I'm going to pull off this net job. After lots of thrashing Kevin says she's coming, so I start to go for his when karens comes up from under the boat and gets in the way. Long story short I scooped em' both up at the same time. We kinda hurried things because I didn't want to hurt the fish but I was pleased with the how the photos turned out. I would of liked to get a better one of them in the net together but it wasn't too bad.
Anyways it ended up being both of there first 50"ers at the exact same time!! Kevins was 50 even on a cowgirl (shocker) and Karens was a 50.5"er on a nut buster. It's one time I can honestly say it was way cooler to watch than to do. Congrats to you both!!

| Congrats to you all! This is very cool!
26 years I've been chasing these fish and I still have a lot of "firsts" to accomplish in this sport:
- First 50 is yet to happen (Been close several times...but...close doesn't count)
- First double while muskie fishing (I've had doubles for all of the other species I fish for ie, bass, salmon, northerns, stripers, catfish, etc, etc...)
- First double 50 inchers while muskie fishing...heck...this may never happen. Heck...a 50 incher by itself may never happen so....this just goes to show you what you all were able to accomplish.
I think your photos are great. Great job! |

| Hey thanks guys!!!!!!!!!
I think its finally starting to sink in... how truly rare that was and how blessed we were to get to experience it together. It was neet becouse afterwards Kevin and Karen were both kinda sitting there like... "I could care less if I catch another fish all year". Of course I was in the front of the boat bombing cast like never before
Thanks again for all the kind words,
Andy |

Even for a lake droppin 50's every other day, that would be something you have a slim chance of ever seeing again (probably never lol) Congratulations!! it's times like that I'd like to be chasing muskies underwater with my friends while getting video the whole time...musta been a feeding frenzy! |
