there are "rules" of friendly online behavior:
http://www.albion.com/netiquette/corerules.html
some key essentials that apply to all of us here on MuskieFirst:
1) be polite to others online, they're people too
2) don't SHOUT, using all CAPS is annoying
3) share expert knowledge with others, don't be afraid to share what you know
...and have fun!

Thanks sir, great topic.
Guest,
Not really. If, however, the content of any post:
1) Bashes a product or person
2) Is rude or mean spirited
3) Is a personal vendetta or argument with/against another person, company or whatever
4) Is so off topic to be not applicable or makes absolutely no sense
THEN expect it to be moved or deleted.
I have a couple of my posts a month deleted, mostly because I occasionally forget myself and want to argue unreasonably or take a swat at someone who has managed to get under my skin....it's nothing personal and has nothing to do with 'opinion'.
'Netiquette' is a great term. Behave as if you are in a very large crowd of friends, peers, and folks you have never met, and everyone can hear you...everyone. Sort of like you have the microphone, because when you post here or on other forums with alot of traffic...you do.
Remember also that we maintain our boards with volunteer moderators and a couple full time folks who work very hard to keep a pleasant, educational, entertaining, and interesting atmosphere available for our visitors. Since that's how this place works, what is published here becomes our responsibility. You may post a comment, but if it's left up no matter what the content....we publish it and are responsible for that content.
Differing opinions abound here, that's encouraged and a is regular occurrence.
'Know the difference', and your post will remain along with the 298,698 other posts currently in the database. | |
