Subject: Okuma lube question

I noticed my induron400a making some noise on the cast.(squeeling) So, I thought I'd clean and lube the reel.On my Abu's, I can get to both sides easily for cleaning, etc. My question is how do you get at the bearing/bearings on the end opposite of the handle? Also, the spool seems like it's held in to the same side, and won't come out? What's the secret? Thanks

Thee spool removes by pulling the spool shaft out of the left end of the reel. A drop of oil on both bearing sets and inside the gearing, and you are all set.

I assume that you mean the side opposite of the crank side? If so, how do you remove the left side cover? Thanks

You don't. Pull the spool out of the left side of the reel, and you will be able to access the spool shaft seat and clicker gearing there. The spool shaft holds a bearing on that side as well.

Start by taking the right side of the reel off the frame.

Thank you. It feels like the spool is stuck when I try to pull it out. Does it normally take much effort to do this?

It shouldn't. Make sure the line spooled up isn't blocking the way.
