was fishing over the weekend at a new hotspot and after fishing for about a hour and a half i get a follow from a 45+in muskie biggest ive ever seen in the water and i got so excited i started to figure 8 with about 6ft of line still left the person i was fishing with said it looked like i tried to stab the fish needless to say i spook him

so does anyone else have any bad expierences with figure 8ing

Just act like every cast there is a fish following. You'll figure it out soon. Got a fish friday evening on a figure 8 that I had no idea was there. Also, I would focus more on doing a BIG circle, forget the eight, just my personal preference. And don't forget to speed the bait up during the eight, that's more of a trigger than the actual motion.

few weeks ago in Ontario during our week trip i had 4 fish bite during the 8 didnt land a single one
