Location: Bloomington, IL | So I picked up what I think is a smokin good deal on a lot of spinner baits on ebay. Then I got to thinking....which is ALWAYS dangerous....since all my bass spinner baits are a pain in my arse to store.....how in the heck am I going to be able to store these mondo spinner baits?? (not the inline ones, those are easy enough. )
Right now I keep all of my lunge lures in the really deep plano 3700 size boxes...but I know thats not going to cut it for the big spinner baits. So I was wondering what you guys do with yours?
One of these days I will probably buy one of the big muskie boxes, but its not going to be in the super near future, so another solution/suggestion would be much appreciated!!
Thanks! |

| Het Scott, I use one of my kids old nylon lunchboxes with a zipper all the way around it! It actually works pretty good. I kinda lay the baits all the same direction and take my time getting them out and putting them away1 I bought 6 new spinnerbaits from River Rat Lures one day, and was on my way fishing and I thought to myself, what the heck am I gonna do with these big things. I looked over and saw the lunchbox and thats where they been ever since! Thats fishin REDNECK style with muskie24/7...LOL

Location: Bloomington, IL | HAHA! Yay for redneck style! :D
I gotta tell ya...taking my time is not something I am known for. Those baits would be in a tangle after about 10 minutes. Well, not really...I don't change my baits THAT fast, but you get the point.
Its not a bad start though. I bet I could take the same lunch bag idea, and put a wire (clothes hanger or someting thick) across the top and hang the baits from it. Hum...might need some more brain-storming to make sure they don't fall off in transport. I'll pop in a MacGyver dvd when I get home for inspiration. LOL!

| I've got 30 or so spinnerbaits in a Plano 3741 box. It is divided into 3 sections. It's worked for me for the last few years. |

Location: Hayward, WI | I still use one of the deep 3700 series boxes for my spinnerbaits. I use the boxes with the single, open compartment. To keep them from tangling, put each spinnerbait in a zip lock bag and lay it in the box. I would make sure to let the baits hang for a while before putting them back in the bag, but it's worked well for me so far. I bet you could fit at least 20-30 musky sized spinnerbaits in one of those planos this way.

| I use a box designed for salmon spoons. I can't remember the name at the moment, but I'll check when I get home. I'm not even sure if they're still made. |

Location: Ohio | I usually throw some into a Ziploc baggie and HOPE they don't get tangled. Another option is when I'm on my boat(No space limitations) I bring my "Big Mouth"
Spinnerbait box, I'm not sure who makes it, but it holds between 15-20 large baits. |

Location: Land of the Musky | There are some great pictures of tackleboxes here. They were posted about 9 months ago. I will see if I can find that thread. It was perfect boxes for bucktails and spinnerbaits.

| Just found the box I use online. They're called Special Mate Tackle Boxes. I picked mine up for $40 at a fishing show a few years back. It hold quite a few baits. |

Location: Bloomington, IL | ah, cool. Thanks for the replies, everyone!
I should have mentioned this too...this will be for when on my boat. I would like to have it somewhat portable as I bring my muskylures inside when I'm not suing them. The Special Mate is pretty cool, but a little bigger than I was looking for!
I don't suppose there is some sort of binder out there for spinnerbaits, but just bigger ones, is there?
Thanks for the tip on the thread TB...I'll have to spend some time digging to try and find it to! |

| I have been using Cabela's Advanced Anglers Tackle Utility Binder # 3700. Excellent storage for big spinnerbaits. |

| In college you find a lot of ways to use and reuse. I short term tackel box I've used it an old cereal box, and cut grooves into them. But the best by far would just to get a styrofoam minnow bucket and you can stick the trailer hooks right into the side, a five gallon pale would even work- somewhere someone makes an insert that actually goes into the bucket and it holds a dozen or so baits.....when you're on a college budget you make it work...... |

| How many spinnerbaits do you think you have in that binder? And how many can it hold? I don't know if my dad's old Marv's twin spins would fit well in there though. He loves those things. |

Location: NYC (and many weeks in MN during summer) | Shimano makes a "monster" binder with zip locks for spinnerbaits or rubber worms. It's a much thicker plastic than regular zippocks, really heavy duty. You can buy refills for it too. I have over 75 large spinnerbaits in mine. In fact the smallest size are the rad dogs. It has an easy carry handle too. Thorne brothers sells it. (btw, hooks won't go through these bags very easily. Even if you buy the bags and not the binder, these heavy duty stuff is a must, IMO).
I just added the lakewood spinnerbait box, as I just have too many baits.
Good luck

Location: Bloomington, IL | Thanks a lot for all the input guys! I think the Cabelas binder fits my needs exactly, so I'm gonna go that direction. Pretty cool to see the ideas though. I like that file folder too!!
I wasn't ever able to find the tackle box thread, TB, so if you do end up coming across it, I'd still like to see it!
Thanks again!

Location: Kronenwetter, WI | That binder has a dozen big slots and 10 smaller slots.
I use the smaller slots for bass-sized baits and extra blades---I use clips on all my spinner baits and swap blades as needed. |

| I use a Browning Goliath Worm binder I got at Bass Pro. It has those same heavy plastic bags, and they are durable enough that I even have chatterbaits and some inlines with smaller trebles in there, Mepps Maabou and such. Works great. |
