Location: Glenmoore PA | I'm looking to pick up one of these baits. Is there a major difference between a Weagle, Doc, and Giant Jackpot?Is the weagle worth the extra money? Is it tough to work because of the weight? Any feedback would be great. THanks. |

Location: Browerville, Minnesota | Having not thrown a Weagle, I really can't comment on that bait, however, do have lots of experience with the other two. The Doc is longer than the Jackpot for starters. It also has a rattle built inside of it to create more noise when it is being fished. Does that make a difference? I don't really know for certain. The Doc also sits lower in the water, where the Jackpot works more on top of the water. Doc is easier to use when there are little waves on the water. I prefer to throw the Jackpot when the lake is completely flat calm. I like to use the Jackpot as a search lure, because you can fish it realatively fast. Both have caught and moved fish for me and I like them both very much. |

| The weagle sits lower in the water, and it also moves more water than any other WTD bait I've fished. As far as I am concerned it is easier to fish them, as well. They have a very easy cadence, and are easy to get to move right, compared to Jackpots and Docs.

Location: Bemidji/Cass Lake | Buy the weagle. Hooks up better and it's a good, tough bait. Jackpot catches fish too, but being lighter it gets thrown around easier while a fish is trying a strike. Plus it's not a strong bait. Weagle's weight helps it get whacked better. They run more consistent too, Jackpot could do anything out of the box.

Location: Twin Cities | I have both size Weagle's and both size of Doc's. I prefer these two, each for different situations. I really like the rattles in the Doc's, the longer of which is a cake-walk to fish. The shorter Doc's are a little tougher to fish, IMO, but still good.
I really like weagle's. Boy do they move water. Haven't had a muskie eat one yet, but had a few interested in them.
I would not buy a jackpot, too many times they're blown out of the water, harder to get consistent swoosh out of them. |

Location: Milwaukee | I have them all, love the Doc and the Weagle, the Jackpot is just OK. I agree that the Jackpot gets blown away from the fish at the time of the strike. The others are slightly heavier and seem to hook up more. Here is a my 46 1/2 from this spring on the Doc.

Location: Hugo, MN | I'd go with the Weagle, Home Wrecker, or Viper all are very similar and as previously stated all seem to be able to absorb the rush of water generated by a striking fish better than a Jackpot which in my experience gets knocked out of the path of the fish very often. |

Location: Lake Tomahawk, Musky Central, USA | I have about 11 jackpots that I love...1 weagle I just can't stand because I'm having problems keeping it above the water, and 3 hughes river WTD models...I threw the hughes rivers for the first time in a few years today and can compare them to the weagle when I get it running correctly..I just like the jackpots though, haven't failed me yet. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Andy...if the Weagle you have sinks, it needs to go back. Heck, bring it to me and I'll trade you for a good one. Baldy stands behind his lures, and has directly commented on this to you in other threads.
As far as which to use:
I have them all. The Jackpot used to be my go-to pike lure very early in the year, shallow and weedy conditions and cold water. As reported, Muskies and big Pike will blow it out of the water when they are aggressive, so now I use a Baby Weagle ealry for Pike. The Doc isn't an improvement enough over the Jackpot for bigger muskies blowing it out of the water, so I use the Weagle for all other zig zag topwater applications. I have more fish on the Weagle and Wabull than I care to count over the last few years, and a few pretty decent fish, too. Plus, the owner of Muskie Mojo, the company that builds the Weagle, is a nice guy, and doesn't call me mean spirited names.  |

I prefer Weagles, the reg. size Fish Stick and mag size fish stick over all others...3 hooks are better than 2...

I was having the diving problem until I got a longer/better WTD rod. I used to have a 6 footer pool cue, I had to slow WAAAAAAY down to keep the nose from diving on weagle's. I've now got a 7.5 footer X-fast and it's AWESOME for all the WTD stuff. Everything is easier to work, IMO. |

Location: Land of the Musky | Weagle by far. Great lure with a great track record of big big big fish! Plus its not really expensive when you think it will last you a lifetime fo fishing and then you can pass it down to your kids and it will last them a lifetime of fishing as well. |

Guy's, I have a serious problem....... It's called Weagleidus.
I have thrown the Doc, and the Jackpot but the Weagle has put Soooo much more fish in the boat..... The hooking percentage is much better than the other WTD lures and it moves a lot more water.
In an avg.10-12 hour day I'll throw the Weagle about 5-6 hours and always move some Nice fish.

Location: LOTW every chance I get | Another thing to consider is that the hardware on the Jackpot is pretty suspect. I lost a fish last year that pulled the screw eye right out of the bait. I did put in some more heavy duty hardware, but the Weagles are bulletproof oout of the box. They do have different actions though, so I use both. Dave |
