| I just learned that Jason Schillinger's (Reef Hawg) father, Don, was seriously injured in an automobile accident early this morning. The Schillinger Family will be in my prayers tonight, please keep them in yours.

Jason- Once again our prayers are with your Dad and your family in this difficult time. I'm sure he's going to be devastated by her loss when he hears about it.
God Bless

Location: north central wisconsin | Hey, just saw this on my way out to see dad. Thanks so much for the support. I've seen witnessed this type of outpouring here before, and it is comforting on the other end.
Just as an update, no change from yesterday is good news I guess, and dad has mobility in his arms and legs. The doc told us that he was lucky to not sustain serious spinal cord damage due to the broken neck. Just pulling for him and mostly the family of his girlfriend of 15 years.
Lastly, one of the first things out of the mouth of nurse who called to tell me about the accident was that dad(as a vietnam vet) was worried about my trip to guide at Operation Muskie. I called the two vets that I was going to take with me to pre fish for a couple days out of Youngs Bay and they were so understanding. Then, Dick Pearson called about an hour ago from Walsh's to wish the best from up there, and to reassure me that they had things coverred and not to worry. I cannot tell you in words how much that means, and how much of a weight he lifted. That group at Walsh's is a special bunch. |

I don't know you, but regardless, you and your family/loved ones are in my thoughts and prayers in the wake of such horrifying news. I hope your dad makes a full recovery, quickly.
Stuff like this should give us a moment to pause, reflect and appreciate life and how lucky we all are and how fragile life really is.

Location: north central wisconsin | Hey guys, just checking in here, and wow, what a great group here.
Just as an update, dad had surgery Tuesday(While we were at funeral). The full Discectomy fusion took 5 hours. They went in from both front and back, took discs out, put bone grafts, plates rods and screws in and fused. It went very well. He was quite dissoriented till Wednesday. Thursday he really came around and they actually had him up. He is asking to go home, and the docs say it could be ok real soon(possibly within 24 hours). They say he can recover in his own bed, as long as he has near full time care. He can't lift anything but light mail for 6 weeks.
We are very thankful for all of the prayers. Looks as though he'll recover physically quite well. The other road will be long, but he has us, and alot of friends to guide him. Thank you!!!!!!
