Location: Bemidji, MN | I have a few weagles an I just bought a 10" WA weagle and 8" WA weagle... the WA weagle seem to work different and dive more and not moving side to side at times. I've tried all kinds of things but I seem to work the 8" weagles better. Any thoughts/advices, BALDY/LAMBEAU?? Thanks.
if this helps I'm casting em with 7-6 MH St.Croix spooled with 80# Tuf Line XP on Daiwa Luna 300 with a 12" single strand leader. |

| I've never had a problem getting good side to side on the WA baits.
Without seeing how you are working it, I can only suggest making sure you have enough slack when you are working the bait. With the tail, slack becomes even more important. |

| the nose diving and not moving side to side is usually a sign of working it too fast and/or not enough slack line.
try slowing down and making sure to leave a bit more slack line.
once the cast lands i pull the rod tip down and to the side without reeling, then lift the rod tip back so it's point at the lure as you reel up the slack you just created. snapping the rod back down and to the side and repeating will give you the action you're looking for.
watch what the line does in this video to see what i mean:

Location: Lake Tomahawk, Musky Central, USA | I've had the same problems and all Luke emailed me back with was that they cannot be ran like a jackpot...now the only way i can work them without making them dive is to go way faster than I want, and jerk up...instead of what I've been used to while running any other walk the dog bait...mine is almost running like a hughes river...or their own wabull...yet it's not one. Ah well, it's only 1 bait..I'll work on it |

Location: Lake Tomahawk, Musky Central, USA | I almost sent it through the windshield of a ski-natique the other afternoon when my line snapped AGAIN...boy did that fly. Not the baits fault...I've had my power pro do this 7 times now since I got it this spring..on minnnnnor backlashes..got that all worked out though..and no biggy Luke. I was surprised the thing could float after buying it, compared to a lot of other surface baits. I'll give it a few more tries. I was so gung ho about the Weagle after my first one that had a lot of action was put up in a tree on the river by a friend..I was going to take the wisconsin plates for my truck "WEAGLEM". (it's still available;)) I misunderstood your email, I thought I needed less slack..and just figured out it was MORE SLACK. No worries :P |
