Location: Kodiak, AK | I wouldn't worry about it. On our helos, one of our GPS antennas is about two feet from our VHF antenna, and I can guarantee our VHF operates at a higher power output than your boat. HF frequencies are the ones that really get tricky and can fry your "boys" if you walk too close to it, and actually spark fuel fumes, and alot of that is it's power output, which VHF doesn't have, and doesn't use in transmitting.
