Looking to put a marine vhf radio in the boat for those few salmon trips out into Lake Michigan. Best spot for said antenna is on the bow. Within two feet of gps puck. Will these interfere with one another?

Some say that they will interfere but I have my vhf antenna about 12" away from one of my GPS pucks and there is not interference. To be safe I would have someone hold it where you want to mount it and give the radio and GPS a try.

I wouldn't worry about it. On our helos, one of our GPS antennas is about two feet from our VHF antenna, and I can guarantee our VHF operates at a higher power output than your boat. HF frequencies are the ones that really get tricky and can fry your "boys" if you walk too close to it, and actually spark fuel fumes, and alot of that is it's power output, which VHF doesn't have, and doesn't use in transmitting.
