Location: NYC (and many weeks in MN during summer) | I love loomis rods, I have a GLX bass rod and 8ft steel musky stick. But, if I were you, and I was recently, I'd be calling lonnie at thorne brothers and I'd get one of the few remaining original diamondback jerkbait blanks built. The diamondback, IMO, always built the best jerkbait blank, its VERY LIGHT and its not too stiff where you gonna lose fish boatside. I think you can get one built custom for under $300. This way you choose the handle length and style, foregrip, rod length, guides and cork or syncork. I even ordered mine with a cool screw down foregrip/reel seat.
Good luck
