Subject: Power Handle Pete Maina

This spring I bought a Pete Maina, Bass Pro Shops, PMX 3000M reel with a gear ratio of 4.2:1 and put it on a Tica 8' XH 2 - 8 oz rod. I haven't had a chance to use the combo yet, but the reel came with a power handle. My question is which of the 2 possible mounting holes should be used? The schematic seems to indicate the "center" hole, but this seems to provide only a fraction of an inch (if that) longer lever arm than the standard 2 paddle handle. If you use the "offset" hole, it creates a longer lever arm which would seem more desireble for pulling in the high drag type lures.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanx.

i just added the power handle to one of my maina reels and set it at the center hole then moved it to the extended hole and it made quite a difference real nice for throwing dcg"s it feels like reeling in a small bucktail ...just my $.02

Thanks for the input. I can't wait to try it out myself.
