| Yesterday I was out casting a shallow weedy bay hoping to land on some crappies that finally have moved up. I felt a nip on the line and thought I had found the spot. As I continued my retrieve I found a mid 40" ski taking nips out of a 2" twistertail!!!! She continued to nip it all the way to the boat. Everytime I thought she was going to take it I pulled it away so she wouldn't cut the line. She even can to the boat where I played around teasing her with the twistertail, pulling it up everytime she took another nip at it. I guess that I need to put away all my big stuff and continue throwing the very small stuff. It'll be easier on my back [:bigsmile:]
On another note, how many of you find that now your a muskie fisherperson you figure 8 or do an L on every cast nomatter what your fishing for? I was doing it quite a bit yesterday. | |

| Ultra lite or not, I would have try to get the muskie! Odds are that you would get the line snapped, but it you hooked her just right... that could have been one of your more memorable fish!
As far as figure 8ing, I find that I do that all the time, reguardless of what I am fishing for. Although, I can not recall if I have actually caught anything (other than muskies and some northerns) on the figure 8. | |

| I figure 8 even when rock or smallmouth fishing as you never know what is down there...little sponge even does it now; he'll be 6 in 2 weeks + at the lake 2 weeks ago he was figure 8ing "BIG TUBBY", his favorite Wally Mart top water bait...he also tried 8ing some bluegill. Out of all the "habits" we aquire I guess this could be classified as a desirable one. | |

| I once caught a nice smally on an 8 (musky fishing), and actually had a brown trout take a second look on an 8 after he chased my spinner back to me! | |
