black, 90% of my topwaters are black. I don't think color makes a difference in top waters.

Fire crappie or perch. They were the 2 colors that made the bait famous.

Black, it's all that matters imo.

Dark color. I'm with the rest on this one. Its the dark silhouette and sound for a topwater.

It must be white in color. All fish bellies are white

It really doesn't matter as long as you can impart action to make the lure work. That's it - no secrets in color. It more about action than color. You like black then buy black. I prefer white, why??? Because I have a vision problem and its easier for me to see white. I catch just as many fish as the next guy - maybe more. Why??? Because I use my dominate hand top work the bait. That extra action is far better than any color.

I have caught fish on Black, Orange, Silver, White and Lime Green top water lures.

If I was going to buy 1 weagle I would buy Black and second would be Perch.

How can anyone pass up a color named after Johnny Cash? The Cash weagle has put 4 in my boat in very limited action, could be me singing "I hear the train a-comin', it's rollin' round the bend.." while I'm working her over the abyss. Never pass up the opportunity to tap into the Cash mojo.

Pretty sure the stink pickle and perch made the Weagle famous.

I always try to go a dark color or contrasting color on topwaters. My weagle is black and bright yellow.

black usually is the ticket. if its used at night thats the best color becouse of contrast against the night. from the fish looking up at it.. and durring the day that color works good . but i have found that a brghter color or a off white on the belly works wonders too.. but i also am a firm believer that it dont matter what color it is . the swoosh alone will do the trick.. and i own about 20 weagles, cady's and mojo's.....bill

I go with perch - just in case color does matter.

I make my own version of the "Weagle", something more like a large "Jackpot" ( 9", 3.5oz) I've found that the best colors are something bright, like Flouresent orange, but NEVER forget Black!!! it's a killer color for topwaters as well as bucktails burned on top. And yes, the "swoosh" and "plop" you can get if worked properly help quite a bit also, the more violent the action I can impart to the bait, the more attention it gets.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but you can't go wrong with black, and in my opinion that holds for all topwater. Other colors will certainly work. I have caught fish on a black/orange belly and mostly all orange Holcombe Tackle Stomper. But I have also done really well with a black Pacemaker and Black Weagle.

Black seems to be a REALLY good color towards and after dark, and can be a killer on cloudy, drizzley (new word?) days. Other colors can and do work, but black is never a bad color in any condition if you ask me.
