south hole or north shallows

looking for the best place to start ski hunting on my local lake when the season opens. The deepest hole in the lake (20') is on the south end, (long skinny lake that is 1,000 acres,3 miles long and runs north/south). I've had it in my brain all winter to fish em deep and suspended, but also knowing the north part of the lake warms quicker. I was just burning around out there and there is a 2 degree difference, hard to say what the diff. will be in 2.5 weeks.
So, if you were going for SIZE, would you work the deep hole on the south end or the big 6' deep flat with weeds on the north end?? Thx much.

mean depth of the lake is 9', if that helps, thx again.

I would work that flat. Look for the weeds for sure. I would not hit that deep hole untill later on.

Go to the spot where the sun rises over first. That will be the spot that will be the warmest on the lake and the fish will be more active there.

North Face, and fish to back end, too. SHallow as can be if it is cloudy, or there is cover. Jason likes to fish this pattern too, did that last year with him in two feet.[:praise:]

Fish the deepest water just off the flat. Last year I did this very thing early in the year, and saw some monsters. Granted I didn't get anything to hit, but I had more active fish off the deep edge than I did in the shallows. The fish were by far bigger off the edge.

If you want numbers I would do what everybody else is saying. But don't be afraid to try deep, especially with a bucktail!!
