This last weekend I noticed that my speedometer on my 2005 Crestliner Fish Hawk is not working. I am not sure if there is a quick fix or not for this problem. I really don't want to take it in to get fixed at a shop as I don't care how fast it says I am going, it is about 8 mph off from my GPS anyway, I just prefer to have everything in working condition on my boat. Anybody had this problem or know an easy fix for it?
Thanks in advance

Probably hit a piece of wood, and plugged the pitot tube. It's a little hole in the front of the lower unit. A small drill bit, or a piece of wire will help get the obstruction out.

If you've been running through some shallow weeds they will also clog up that intake tube. The weeds were very heavy in my lake this year and I noticed the speed-o-meter stopped working at various times due to the motor picking up some of the weed growth.

The speedo on yer boat and GPS will never be the same. The GPS is most accurate.
I also have a Crestliner, the speedo has nothing to do with the boat, it's the engine. My speedo wasnt working (115 opti) the hollow tube that plugs at the front of the motor, and I am guessing sends the reading to yer speedo, got pinched when trimming. Fortunately there was enough slack I could just cut it and put it back on.
